On Free and Plus, you rent the VPS in your own provider account and pay the provider directly. You retain administrator access and choose files, applications and available upgrades.
The Coming soon Hosted option includes customer root access, but SmarterBrain holds the provider account. The machine is not transferred when that service ends. A VPS is virtual infrastructure, not ownership of dedicated physical hardware.
